Roast Rib eye of veal

grand national day.. No winners.. Humph! Ah well..

I do have this great red ticket piece of British rib eye of veal , now some people get a little funny about eating veal.. Thing is though this is no crated veal it is a by product of the dairy industry and really does need to be embraced, it’s a wonderful treat..

Please do give it a chance.. A bit like peas.. ✌️

Maris piper spuds boiled and left to dry rather than shaking them ala tom kerridge.. It does work!

The rib eye of veal rolled in veal jus powder.. That will season it and provide a super savoury note to the outside ..

The veal is cooked on a rack over the potatoes..meaning all those lovely jubbly juices will trickle into the potatoes.. They need to turning at least once while cooking. Oh A preheated oven at 180 (real money) degrees. Sixty-five minutes only..

The veggies? Told ya to give peas a chance right? Boiled, seasoned and buttered..

A seriously delicious meal, the veal was excellent the roast spuds crispy and fluffy inside..the peas lovely buttery and poppy ..poppy peas.. Peas that pop in the mouth.. Yeah..

Gravy? Nah..

Chimchurri of course! It’s just so bright and zingy..

Simply stunning.. Please do try ‘ethical’ veal if you can.. And of course always give peas a chance..
