mussels and frites

Well couldn’t be bothered doing anything fancy so looked in the fridge and found a pack of mussels in white wine sauce that I got from Aldi.

I don’t often go there but decided to have a look since a lot of folk in the Nags swear by it and I now understand why.

Very simple to make. All I had to do was empty the pack into a pan, bring to a boil and simmer for 5 mins.

The smell as it was cooking took me back to the many holidays we had in France. They were usually accompanied with frites so had to deep fry a handful of McCains.

The result was perfect and I will definitely do it all again.

I’d love it to be back in France but I’m afraid that won’t happen so back to Aldi as soon as.
