Birthday eve supper..

It’s my birthday eleven supper.. Actually am writing this in a very nice lobby of the hotel we are staying at in Killarney..

So it’s a little late..

Birthday eve? Why it’s as important if not slightly more than the actual birthday by my reckonings ..

Think of the three wise men and all that .. They thought it was pretty darn special! They travelled pretty far with fancy gifts.

I didn’t have to travel quite as far for my steak for my supper yet it’s still a bit of a cross country shelp.

Had chosen IAN at lees butchers in earls barton to be the supplier of my supper . Unfortunately he wasn’t in.. And they didn’t have the onglet I wanted fresh from the beast.. So into the cold store to look at the meats available .. And a mighty fine cold room it is to be sure !! I am very lucky birthday eve boy indeedy!

Also picked up a fresh pork pie with the jelly still setting!! Check that fecker out!! (Umm was supposed to being it for my birthday treat on the plane today yet left it in the landrover oops! )

So instead another new cut for me.. This kinda off the plate. Near the brisket.. Yet still with wonderful ridges and strechyness.. Expertly cut out for me and trimmed of sinew and membrane .. It really is the sign of an upcoming master butcher that can cut this kind of stuff.

A could of pints at the local and home to make fresh chips and the steak..

Hot iron pan.. Slammed that sucker down for minutes on each side only..

Parboiled the Maris pipers.. Wok fried in Mrs Middletons oil..

A wonderful supper indeed.. Great birthday eve eating. I would have followed a star off this supper… ahem x

Oh and high protein diets as bad as smoking?? Oops I like both.. A LOT!
