Something feels very English about pie and mash.. not just the cockney wistful dream about pie mash and liquor.. yet a good honest pie.. I test anyone to not like good pie.. like a decent stew.. yet thicker and encased in decent pastry..
Pies are a true comfort food, one that really does stick to ya ribs if right!!
And this was a good pie… ok was it home-made? nope.. why?.. well… we have a decent store that does these set meals for a tenner.. that comes with a bottle of vino also.. and they are cracking deals.. yet they also.. much quieter do a set meal for SIX pounds.. consisting of your choice of main side and desert.. now that maths works good.. a very decent steak in red wine gravy pie.. pre mashed carrot, swede and potato.. (just add more butter!).. and a trifle..
Now that really is good value food… and it needed eating.. to avoid getting reff yous ed..
Easy peasy cooking.. pie in oven… mashy in oven..
Also had baby leeks needed eating… simply boiled with herbs..
Very simple supper, very tasty.. x

What have you done????? You have reverted to the old way. It took me 5 mins to get through the post this morning. Fortunately you kept the previous one for comparison. That email had all the pictures in sequence and of same size. Not necessary to go onto site to see the detail and by clicking on post title get straight through to site with same sequenced good quality photos in large enough size to enjoy. Listen to your Father and Uncle Jack. X However I did notice that you changed the sequence of your photos. Much better. X
