The Lone Star Grill

We were all set to go and have lunch at the Cowpers Oak.. in the very lovely quintessential village of Weston Underwood..

So I viewed the menu on-line… uh-oh!!

Closed for holidays and a lick of paint till 17th January!! Feck feck feck.. poo pants pie..

Humph..

So.. we need an alternative.. there is a place I have been meaning to take Mrs Fitz to for a while… the Lonestar Grill.. I have talked with a few people that have been.. and got good feedback.. problem is.. during the lunchtime session, they offer a VERY limited menu..

Hotdogs and burgers..

Good burgers though.. we went for the houseburgers with skinny fries.. Mrs Fitz the addition of a slice of cheese.. a banana milkshake for me and a bottle of Coke for Mrs Fitz..

The woman serving was pretty abrupt.. not really ‘sharing’ with us.. she asked if it was our first time at the Lonestar Grill.. I replied yes.. she then told us to go sit.. and then return to the cashdesk to order.. we were they only ‎people in there!!

And never told us that the evening menu was the better menu.. or that she was happy we had come to try it out.. DOES SHE KNOW WHO I THINK I AM????? Sheesh!! Hahahhaha

The burger was good.. I have to admit it.. Mrs Fitz declaring that it was the best non-home burger she has ever had!! The fries were ok.. not handcut.. nor fresh… that upset me.. the price? kinda steep.. yet hey its a treat right?

Would I go again? Yes.. I want to try their chickin wings.. marinated for 24 hours in buttermilk they say.. yummmmy I say!!

  1. Where is this eatery? Also please find attached the recipe for the lamb chops and the balsamic reduction. Let me know if you can read the attachments and if you enjoyed them.
