A good use of used up food.. salt seems to be a thing with Jack right now.. too much.. or too little!! Hmm maybe the addition of a shoyu sauce may have helped here? Dunno x
Anyways here we go.. x be Nice Jack!
Rummaging through the freezer this morning and found a pack of beef shin with marrow bones but didn’t want a normal stew.
All the root veg was too sweet for the mood I was in. I wanted something a bit more savoury. So something Asian seems just about right. So here is what I came up with.
I put the shin on the black magic trays (I still gotta get me some of them.. (Mr Fitz x)) to defrost while I chopped up an onion, a clove of garlic and a piece of fresh ginger. I browned off the beef and added the onions, garlic and the ginger, then added some dry sherry, stock, soy sauce, honey, star anise, 5 spice powder and chopped coriander.
Set the pressure cooker for 30 mins. (30 mins Jack? How much cooking liquor?..) x
Cooked to perfection.
Serve with rice or eat on it’s own as we did.
Very strong and rich. Maybe too much soy sauce or not enough honey.
Will definitely try again with some minor changes.
