Walked around.. Saw the oldest house in Paris.. Cool.. The statue of liberty.. And finished up at this fantastic ‘proper’ french bistro…served by the family.. Managed and owned by the family.. My pal Mat loved it.. I do also.. The guy behind the bar is major frenchie.. Like proper indeed…LOVE IT!!
Food?
Charcuterie.. Smoked duck, sausage, cornichon… Brawn, pork rillette, country pate.. Piggy paradise baby … Piggy paradise..
Eggs mayonnaise.. They were saying that the EU is trying to stop the serving of “eggs-with-shell”… Huh?? Powdered egg only.. Great for the food manufactures I guess.. Not so good for everyone else!! Sheesh.. Well I aint subscribing to that baby!!
Was good homemade mayo.. Cool
Herring also.. Pickled and served with onions .. Traditional and lovely .. And that’s me being non- fishies..
And a wicked salad.. The spuds were most delicate and so so so potatoey.. A real taste of summer dreams.. With the addition of a little pepper.. Mat ordered it again with some cold fish for the main… That’s him adding pepper..
I went for an entrecote.. Hanger steak.. House recommendation.. Perfect.. Like perfect.. Ok so maybe the ambience of the little joint.. The fact that its hot an I’m sitting next to the door.. A smell of tobacco wafting in from the guys drinking a cold one in the street…. A meal of movie – worthy – ness..
And real chips!! Proper odd shaped chips.. Crispy.. Softy.. Not greasy.. Happy Mr Fitz x
Also ordered was an anduille (apologies for spelling..) Sausage.. The gutsy haggisy phallusy mish mash moosh of a sausage.. Not for me .. Sorry
This was a delight of a meal.. Smiles all around x

I usually do not drop a comment, however after browsing through a ton of remarks on Walking tour in
Paris Cooking with Mr Fitz. I do have a couple of questions for you if
you do not mind. Is it just me or does it give the impression like a few of the comments look like they are coming from brain dead people?
