As you probably know we don’t bake many sweet things in this household..

Yet .. It’s still my birthday weekend!!

So Mrs Fitz asked what cake I wanted..

Well it just has to be Bakewell .. A little off piste as I prefer wild strawberry jam instead of raspberry ..

Mrs Fitz could tell you the detail of the ingredients etc..

This is what I have..

Butter and sugar and eggs and almond flour.. All in the mixer..

Onto store bought cases.. That have been smothered in wild strawberry jam..

Dusted with icing sugar and flaked almonds on top.. (That’s Cora Murley checking on the proceedings)..

Into the oven..

Cooked and cooled..

Served with cornish clotted cream.. And tea.. Hey! It is mybirthday!
