Finger food for supper.. And what better than duck wrapped in chinese pancakes with green onion and cucumber.. Just why does that work so well? Who invented that flavour combo? I think they deserve a great big hat for that..
This duck was a crown .. Shame you couldn’t wear it though ..
That’s the duck with some wok spices on it.. No five spice? Nope.. It’s one of those things five spice .. I always think I like it yet when it comes to it it’s just not my thing.. Hmmm
Anyhoo-dee-hoo-dooo..
A little water in the pot a lemon in half in the cavity and a whole head of French rose garlic.. Some star anise as a sympathetic nod..
Into the oven for four hours.. Three of those it’s covered .. The last hour out and Italian honey and more wok spice added..
It’s cooked.. It’s more than cooked… It’s very easily shreddable.. Perfect!
The sauce? Lucky a quick mail to my attorney provided the answer ..
Sesame oil, Asian chilli oil, hoisin, and soy.. With a little water to loosen..
All over the shredded duck..
Of course cucumber and spring onions..
The pancakes chef ping took care of..
All layed out..
And loved whilst streaming the late late toy show.. You don’t know it? It’s an institution.. Happy fiesta friday..
